A theoretical analysis for the resonant hyper-Raman scattering (RHRS) of light in a US crystal is presented. The different scattering mechanisms are considered and the cross section of the RHRS by LO phonons are calculated as a function of incident frequency. The HRS cross section calculated for the scattering mechanism including two-photon transition to a s-exciton state in US as a function of the doubled energy of incident photons (the curve 1). Also the cross section calculated separately for the two-band and multi-band models of the two-photon transition (the curves 2 and 3).
