Extending traditional scaling approaches, intrinsic and extrinsic properties of advanced magnetic nanostructures are investigated. Focus is on the following phenomena: competing RKKY and magnetostatic interactions between magnetic particles in a nonmagnetic metallic matrix, cooperative magnetization processes, Anderson localization of magnetic modes in nanostructures, scaling laws governing the effect of nanojunctions and other constrictions on the spin structure, and the modification of random-anisotropy laws for weakly low-dimensional structures and coupled nanoparticles.
