CeO2-ZrO2 solid solution catalysts are very effective for the selective synthesis of propylene carbonate (PC) from propylene glycol and carbon dioxide. Dipropylene glycols and poly ( PC) are expected to be formed as by-products, however, they were not detected at all in the analysis by gas chromatograph and FTIR.
