Millable polyurethane elastomers based on difunctional castor oil and poly(propylene glycol), 2,4-toluene diisocyanate and 1,4-butane diol were prepared and cured using toluene diisocyanate dimer as crosslinking agent. All elastomers were characterized by conventional methods. Physical, thermal and mechanical properties of elastomers were studied. Investigation of these properties showed that the elastomers could be tailor made in order to fulfill industrial needs. (C) 2003 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
