The interaction of NO, ammonia (NH3) hydrazine (N2H4) and hydroxylamine (NH2OH) on Fe2O3/Al2O3 model catalyst was studied. The data support the idea that hydrazine can be intermediate in the oxidation of ammonia to nitrogen, while hydroxylamine-type species, can be intermediate in the oxidation of ammonia to NO. On the contrary to those observed over Fe2O3/TiO2 previously studied, hydroxylamine-type species are formed at relatively low temperature, indicating that Fe2O3/Al2O3 is less selective in SCR reaction with ammonia.
