This paper studies the effect of aluminum particle size on the acceleration ability and heat of explosive decomposition of aluminized compositions containing HMX, nitroguanidine, and bis (2,2,2-trinitroethyl) nitramine. The addition of Al increases the acceleration ability of the HEs. The replacement of Al with micron-size particles by an ultrafine powder with a particle size of 0.1 mum does not lead to an additional increase in the acceleration ability. The effect of Al on the heat of explosive decomposition of the examined compositions is investigated.
