Phytochemical investigations of the acetone extract of Psidium guaijava seeds has led to the isolation of five known flavonoid glycosides, two phenolic glycosides and two new phenylethanoid glycosides which have been identified as 1-O-3,4-dimethoxyphenylethyl-4-O-3,4-dimethoxy cinnamoyl-6-O-cinnamoyl-beta-D-glucopyranose and 1-O-3,4-dimethoxyphenylethyl-4-O-3,4-dimethoxy cinnatnoyl-beta-D-glucopyranose, on the basis of chemical, physical and spectroscopic methods of analysis.
