Ferromagnetic linear trinuclear copper(II) complex bridged by sulfosalicylate ligand

A sulfosalicylate-bridged linear trinuclear Cu(II) complex [Cu-3(SSA)(2)(Bpy)(2)(H2O)(4)].4H(2)O, where SSA is sulfosalicylate anion, is synthesized and structurally characterized. A ferromagnetic coupling between adjacent copper ions dominates the magnetic property of this complex. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
