Ordered carbon nanotubes (OCNTs), which was synthesized within the highly ordered pores of an alumina template membrane, were used to modify a glassy carbon (OCNT/GC) electrode. The OCNT/GC electrode showed potent electrocatalytic activity toward the electrochemical oxidation of NADH in phosphate buffer solution (pH 6.8) with a diminution of the overpotential of 645 mV. The anodic peak currents increase linearly with the concentration of NADH in the range of 2 x 10(-5) to 1 x 10(-3) M with a detection limit of 5 x 10(-7) M (at a S/N = 3). (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V.
