Arrays of Co magnetic nanowires with hexagonal symmetry have been prepared by electrodeposition into self-aligned titania nanotubes membranes. The nanowires have been investigated by X-ray diffraction, SEM, and VSM magnetometry. Magnetization curves of arrays of Co wires indicate that the easy direction of magnetization is a direction perpendicular to the axis of the wire. (C) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
