The biotin-avidin affinity system is exploited in pre-targeted imaging using avidin-conjugated antibodies. F-18-FDG is available at all PET centres. F-18-FDG forms oximes by reaction with oxyamine. Herein we describe the synthesis of oxyamine-funtionalised biotin, its F-18-labelling by conjugation with F-18-FDG and confirm its ability to interact with avidin. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd.
