The transient nonlinear optical response of few layered graphene oxide dispersed in different organic solvents was studied and its nonlinear optical properties were determined under visible and infrared, nanosecond laser excitation. Few layered graphene oxide was shown to possess important and broadband optical limiting action under infrared laser wavelengths up to 1.8 mu m, comparable to that observed for visible wavelengths. Finally, its nonlinear optical response and optical limiting efficiency was compared with that of single layer graphene oxide and it was found to be significantly superior.
