The mechanical, thermal, optical and electrical properties of polystyrene/alum composites have been studied as a function of alum content and applied field frequency. The mechanical properties, glass transition temperature, optical energy gap, dielectric constant and AC electrical conductivity of the composites sheets showed frequency and filler content dependence. Analysis and correlation between the collected physical quantities are presented. (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
