Microstructures of textured polycrystalline Mg samples compressed parallel and perpendicular to the predominant c-axis direction in a channel die are characterized using EBSD. Anomalous peaks in the misorientation angle distribution of the latter sample result from twinning on two different {1012} planes within individual grains. (C) 2004 Acta Materialia Inc.
