The vapor permeation of aqueous 2-PrOH mixtures was investigated by using the natural polymer, gelatin, as one of the membrane components in a polymer blend. The gelatin/Torlon(R) poly(amide imide) blended membranes preferentially permeated H2O from aqueous 2-PrOH by vapor permeation. Membranes containing gelatin can be used as one of promising membranes for the dehydration of aqueous 2-PrOH. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
