Solution properties of sodium heptafluorobutyrate in water were studied by electrical conductance measurements at different temperatures. Equivalent conductivity at infinite dilution and transport number of the ions in aqueous solutions were determined at 25degreesC. Ion-pair interactions in the high concentration range (0.5-4.0 mol kg(-1)) were confirmed at the temperatures studied. Finally, a self-assembly process was found at the concentration of 0.0419 mol kg(-1) and confirms previous findings for other perfluoroalkanoates. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
