Air/vacuum dielectric organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) based on submicrometer- size copper-hexadecafluorophthaocyanine single crystalline ribbon were fabricated and characterized. The n-type OFETs showed high performance with the electron mobility at similar to 0.35 cm(2) V-1 s(-1) and on/off ratio at >3 X 10(5), respectively. The electrical characteristics of the devices were hardly affected by air, illumination, and continuous measurements even though the mobility was thermally activated. The high performance of the air/vacuum dielectric devices showed their potential applications in organic circuits. (c) 2008 American Institute of Physics.
