New peak technology among glow sprayings is High Velocity Oxy-Fuel (HVOF). In our country the unique device HP/HVOF TAFA JP-500 was installed for layers manufactured by this technology. Layers prepared by this system belong to the best ones in this time. Spraying conditions give following favourable properties: low porosity (less 1%), high hardness (40-70 HRC), low oxides content, high adhesion (more 70 MPa), compression stresses in coating (strong layers upto 12 mm). Existence of residual stresses in layer influences adhesion importantly. It is necessary to choose suitable parameters to create coatings with compression stress. For experimental programme of modelling INCONEL 718 alloy was used: 12% Cr steel was used as a substrate. Given task was solved by the Systus programme. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
