We have measured the Raman scattering spectrum and the carrier-to-noise ratio (CNR) simultaneously during readout from a super-resolution readout (SRR) optical disk utilizing an antimony resolution enhancing layer. Both the Stokes and anti-Stokes spectrum of the antimony A(1g) mode at +/- 150cm(-1) were observed at different incident laser powers. With the onset of SRR for readout powers over 3.0 mW, the integrated intensity of both Stokes and anti-Stokes peaks reduced significantly with the increasing laser power. This behavior is attributed to the formation of a disordered (molten) area in the antimony film within the readout laser spot. (C) 2009 The Japan Society of Applied Physics
