We have studied the transverse coupling of optical modes between a quantum-dot photonic crystal microcavity light-emitting diode and a photonic crystal missing-defect waveguide. From the emission spectra, it is evident that higher order anticrossings participate in the output coupling process. A 3% coupling efficiency between cavity and waveguide modes is estimated.
