A convenient, one-pot procedure for the preparation of [(PPh3)CuH](6) from a Cu(II) precursor, Cu(OAc)(2) in the presence of organosilanes as the reducing agent is described. This method provides a simple route to Stryker's reagent without the necessity of preparing and purifying reagents in additional steps. (C) 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
