Encapsulation of catalysts in supramolecular porous frameworks: Size- and shape-selective catalytic oxidation of phenols

Ask authors/readers for more resources

A novel strategy for designing and synthesizing porous supramolecular catalysts is presented. Metal complexes encapsulated in three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded porous frameworks (see Figure) via self-assembly catalyze phenol oxidation. The catalysis is enhanced by the constraining effect of the channels formed in the supramolecular frameworks, and is significantly size- and shape-selective.
