A selective molecular imprinting-chemiluminescence method was developed for the determination of norfloxacin by using a norfloxacin-imprinted polymer as recognition material and the Ce(IV)-sodium sulfite-norfloxacin chemiluminescence reaction as the detection system. The chemiluminescence intensity responded linearly to the concentration of norfloxacin within 1.0 x 10(-7) similar to 1.0 x 10(-5) mol L-1 with a detection limit of 3 x 10(-8) mol L-1. The relative standard deviation for 5.0 x 10(-7) mol L-1 norfloxacin solution was 2.4% (n = 7). This method was applied to the determination of norfloxacin in urine samples, and the results obtained were satisfactory.
