Roller burnishing improves the high cycle fatigue performance of AZ80. An improvement of 110% in the fatigue strength is achieved at the optimum condition. Roller burnishing is more effective than shot peening in enhancing the fatigue life of AZ80. (c) 2005 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
