The 'permanent liquids, ' the heliums, are insulators at one-atmosphere. The question to be addressed is whether the superfluid properties they possess might also be attained in states of matter which are metallic. Likely candidates for these new phases of matter are the hydrogens, both protium and deuterium, which differ crucially in the macroscopic many, stations of their respective quantum statistics.
