Many years of experience in ankle orthopaedic surgery has led to the creation of the A.E.S (Ankle Evolutive System) concept. Complications are rare, and walking autonomy is normally regained within 3 months. Its success depends not only on the clinical aptitude of the patient, but also on rigorous clinical and radiological pre-operative planning to diagnose the causes of the ankle pathology and the likely success of associated surgery. The surgical procedure, which is simple and reliable, consists of 6 steps, which are carried out with the aid of specialized instruments that have been conceived by surgeons. Our results over the past 6 years have proved to be successful, and therefore, we recommended our prosthesis for young and old alike.
