This study reviews the models and correlations for dense phase conveying in an effort to explore existing and new data on the subject and to provide guidance to the designer on the best pressure drop model. Using various data sets the Mi (Konrad)-based model was found to be best for predicting the pressure drop across dense phase plugs. A series of industrial scale tests also shows agreement with the Mi (Konrad)-based model. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
