Higher alkyl naphthalenes based on oligomers of propylene were investigated as lubricant and coolant process materials (LCPM). Dialkyl naphthalenes from the 280-420 degrees C fraction of oligomers reduce the pressure of the metal on the roller in the subcritical region of rolling to a greater degree than monoderivatives. Products consisting of an equal mixture of mono- and dialkyl-substitution products ensure normal rolling conditions for copper.
