Bi nanorods and NiBi particles were prepared using a simple hydrothermal reduction method at moderate temperatures of 150 degrees C. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) reveals pure Bi nanorods with diameters of about 50 nm and superconducting NiBi particles. The magnetic susceptibility (chi) of the superconducting NiBi was measured as a function of temperature at 10 Oe. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
