The essential oils of Cistus ladaniferus L. var. maculatus Dun. and Cistus monspeliensis L., harvested from northern Morocco, have been analyzed by GC-FID, GC/MS, and NMR techniques. The main components of C. ladaniferus were bornyl acetate, pinocarveol, and viridiflorol, whereas the main component from C. monspeliensis was the oxygenated labdane diterpenoid 13-epi-manoyl oxide.
