Clutch size of nine-spined stickleback Pungitius pungilius from Airolo and Dog Bone Lakes, Alaska, showed small but significant differences between lakes and across 2 years. The variation in Clutch size was independent of variation in egg mass, which did not differ appreciably between lakes or across years. (c) 2005 The Fisheries Society of the British Isles.
