We investigated the effect of the particle size on the rate capability and the cycle performance by comparing those of a non-milled Fes (NM-FeS) and a high energy milled Fes (HM-FeS) anode. The particle size of Fes powder decreased from several 10 mu m to ca. 300 nm by the high energy milling. The HM-FeS showed better high-rate capability and cycle performance owing to the small particle size. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
