Eight new nornardosinane sequiterpenoids, laevinols A-H (1-8), a new neolemnane sesquiterpenoid, laevinone A (9), and the previously known 6 beta-acetyl-4 beta,5 beta-dimethyl-1(10)alpha-epoxy-2 beta-hydroxy-7-oxodecalin (10) and 11,12-dihydroxy-6,10-eremophiladiene (11) were isolated from the methylene chloride solubles of the Formosan soft coral Lemnalia laevis. Their structures were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis, and their cytotoxicity against selected cancer cells was measured in vitro.
