Pure aluminium particles were successfully synthesised into fully dense bulk material by back pressure equal channel angular consolidation (BP-ECAC) at 100 degrees C. The as-consolidated material showed a fine grain structure with excellent tensile strength and ductility. The simplicity and effectiveness of BP-ECAC make it a promising process for producing strong bulk materials from particles. (c) 2005 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
