Polyaniline (PANI) nanofibres or nanotubes (180-200 nm in diameter) containing FC3O4 nanoparticles (diameter approximate to 10 nm) and PANI-coated gamma-Fe2O3 narioneedles (40-80 nm in diameter and 500-600 nm in length) were prepared by in situ doping polymerization in the presence of H3PO4 as a dopant. The composite nanostructures exhibited electrical-magnetic properties that are dependent on the structure and the content of the magnetic nanoparticles used. The formation mechanism of the self-assembled composite nanostructures is discussed.
