Squeeze casting process is the result of search for materials with improved mechanical properties and new casting processes. Desirable features of both casting and forging are combined in this hybrid method. An attempt is made to prepare solid and hollow components of commercially pure bronze, by squeeze casting and to investigate the resulting mechanical properties and grain structure. The components exhibited remarkable grain refinement and substantial improvement in mechanical properties. There is a good scope for processing of such alloys through squeeze casting.
