CPW-fed triangular monopole antenna for ultra-wideband operation

A novel ultra-wideband design of a single-layer coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed triangular planar monopole antenna proposed. The proposed antenna, which includes two notched ground planes only 24 mm in width and 31 mm in height, experimentally reaches a measured - 10-dB impedance bandwidth of 9.8 GHz (from 3.05 to 12.85 GHz), covering the WPAN standard. Good monopolelike radiation patterns and antenna gains are also obtained. (c) 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
