The effect of the irradiated position of the irradiated light on the ignition voltage in quasi-DC operation of a fluorescent lamp under white light irradiation was examined experimentally. It was confirmed, for the first time, that only the white light irradiation near the anode (< 10cm) can cause an increase in ignition voltage for discharge initiation, and that the ignition voltages have their maxima at 4-6 cm from the anode.
