Rapid and efficient synthesis of 2-imidazolines and bis-imidazolines under ultrasonic irradiation

Rapid and efficient preparation of 2-imidazolines and bis-imidazolines by reaction of ethylenediamine with nitriles in the presence of catalytic amounts of sulfur under ultrasonic irradiation is reported.
