In this paper, we apply an active control technique to synchronize a kind of two parametrically excited chaotic systems. Based on Lyapunov stability theory and Routh-Hurwitz criteria, some generic sufficient conditions for global asymptotic synchronization are obtained. Illustrative examples on synchronization of two Duffing systems subject to a harmonic parametric excitation and that of two parametrically excited chaotic pendulums are considered here. Numerical simulations show the validity and feasibility of the proposed method. (c) 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
