Tin dioxide materials chemically modified with trialkynylorganotins:: Functional nanohybrids for photovoltaic applications

Ask authors/readers for more resources

Surface modification of nanoporous tin dioxide materials with fluorinated or perylene units is achieved with trialkyn-ylorganotin compounds (see figure). Irreversible chemisorption occurs in solution at room temperature, yielding an organic layer at the oxide surface via the cleavage of the three tin-alkynide bonds of the precursor and the formation of Sn-bulk-O-Sn-C linkages. The dye-sensitized nanohybrids are suitable for solar-energy conversion devices.
