Two morphological structure nanomaterials of Cerium oxide (CeO2), such as comet-like and prism-like, were prepared by thermal decomposition of cerium hydroxycarbonate precursors. The precursors were synthesized in microemulsion system under solvothermal condition at different reaction temperatures. In the microemulsion systems, ethoxylated nonylphenol (TX-10) and I-butanol were acted as surfactant and cosurfactant, respectively. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
