The Young's modulus of yttria-stabilized zirconia top coats was measured after the thermal barrier coatings were exposed to thermal cycling. The modulus decreased from a value of 2300 MPa before the thermal cycling, with increasing thermal exposure until 700 cycles, and then remained unchanged at 720 MPa until 1300 cycles.
