New three-dimensional, microporous metal-organic frameworks exhibiting reversible water adsorption, constructed from hexagonal [Co-3(imda)(2)] layers and N,N'-pillars, in which the dimensions of the channels are rationally adjustable by varying the lengths of pillars, have been designed, hydrothermally synthesized, and characterized.
