A method for rapid analysis of multiresidual pesticides in agricultural products by gas chromatograph-mass spectrometry ( GC/MS ) was introduced. Matrix solid-phase dispersion ( MSPD ) technique with slight modification was employed to minimizing matrix interferences. To evaluate the performance of the system, 97 target pesticides were spiked into a range of food including potato, cabbage, carrot, apple, orange, cucumber and rice. The combination of MSPD technique and GC/MS for analysis of 97 pesticides can be accomplished within 90 min per sample. Most pesticides were recovered in the range of 70% -120% with relative standard deviation ( RSD ) < 10%. The results demonstrated that the method could be successfully applied to a broad range of target pesticides in a diverse range of food materials.
