In this paper the optical properties of thin films comprising J-aggregated dyes (TDBC) in a polymeric matrix (PVA) deposited on a metallic (silver) layer are studied. Angular reflectometry experiments are conducted in order to obtain the dispersion energy curve of the Surface Plasmon (SP) in relation with the exciton mode. It exhibits an anticrossing behavior characteristic of the strong coupling regime. Simulations using a transfer matrix method with complex optical indices are applied and discussed. They show a roughly good agreement with the experimental results and allow us to estimate the value of the oscillator strength of organic J-aggregate semi conductors used in our experimental studies.
