In this paper, thermal buckling of a simply supported functionally graded skew plate is investigated using first-order shear deformation theory in conjunction with the finite element approach. The material properties are assumed to vary as a power form of the thickness coordinate. Linear and nonlinear temperature rise across the thickness are considered. The effects of aspect and thickness ratios, gradient index and skew angle on the critical buckling temperature difference are brought out. (c) 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
