In order to clarify the structural properties of a novel ferromagnetic shape-memory alloy Ni(50)Mn(36)On(14) in magnetic fields, we have carried out high-field X-ray powder diffraction measurements under magnetic fields up to 5 T in the wide temperature range from 8 to 300 K. In this work, we confirmed that magnetic field induces the reverse martensitic transformation in Ni(50)Mn(36)On(14) at the vicinity of 220 K. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
