In this work densities, refractive indices, speeds of sound and isentropic compressibilities of the ternary mixture ethanol+water+1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride ([C(4)mim][Cl]), and of the binary subsystems containing the ionic liquid, have been measured at 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure.
