Volatiles from the wood-rotting fungi Schizophyllum commune, Datronia mollis and Pycnoporus cinnabarinus were obtained by hydrodistillation and investigated by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. In total, 20 compounds could be identified for the first time as volatile constituents of fungi. Major components were 1-hepten-3-one, 1-octen-3-ol and 2-pentyl furan.
